WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING...

"We didn't feel pressured to do anything out of our element"

We hired Gina as a photographer for our elopement and she was amazing to work with. From our first e-mail she was excited, interested to learn about us and what we were looking for, and full of ideas to match our goals. Gina was very quick to respond to any emails or calls in the lead-up to our elopement and answer any questions we had.

The photoshoot with her was wonderful - she was fun to be around and encouraged us to do our own thing while she captured all the moments. We didn't feel pressured to do anything out of our element.

Special appreciation to Gina for being able to help with some last minute tech support for us to stream our ceremony for some family members back home. We'll be ever grateful for that.

Gina had our photos ready for us much earlier than we expected and we are ecstatic with how they turned out.

Highly recommend working with Driftwoods Photography!

MY NUMBER ONE PIECE OF ADVICE...INVEST IN PHOTOGRAPHY

Your elopement photos are one of the only things you truly take home from the big day. Your photos and the story they tell are how you will relive your day not only with each other, but with your friends and family back home. So, choose a photographer whose style you LOVE! You want photos that take your breath away and make you suddenly need to grab that tissue...I'm not crying, you're crying!!

I am fully invested in your love story from the very first email and consider myself more than just your Vancouver Island elopement photographer. I'm your travel planner, coordinator, biggest cheerleader and friend! Let me take care of the logistics so that you can be in the moment with your person.

MY SECOND PIECE OF ADVICE...THROW OUT THE RULEBOOK!

And dream big! As your Vancouver Island elopement photographer, I am ready to capture any adventure you can throw at me! That means I'll get on a kayak or sailboat, hike a mountain, hop on a helicopter, get down in the mud or waist deep in the ocean to get those photos you will frame on your wall or show your grandkids one day. Photos that will unequivocally tell the story of your wild and crazy love and your unforgettable wedding adventure. Let's get stoked on coastal air and windswept hair and embrace the candid in-between moments. These are the details that matter. This is how you create a wedding that is intimate and meaningful, fun and stress-free, authentic and intentional.

What clients just like you are saying...

Booking Gina was the best thing I did when planning our elopement on Vancouver Island. Gina and I clicked instantly and I fell for her editing style and ability to capture sweet, little moments. Gina helped commemorate our marriage by providing us with options to pick a spot that best represented our vibe which was helpful since we had never been to the island before. Communication? Great. In person connection? Amazing. Ability to let loose and get comfortable in front of the camera? You bet! Working with Gina was so very special and the breathtaking photos just solidified our decision of eloping and hiring Gina as the best part. These will be memories I will think of fondly for many years to come. Thank you for everything, Gina. I would book you again and again

FAQ

What if we want an outdoor adventure for our elopement (hiking, kayaking, etc)?

I am ready to capture any Vancouver Island Elopement adventure you can throw at me! You’ll receive contact information and coordination assistance with trusted local charter companies for activities like sailboat cruises, kayak adventures and helicopter tours. Adventures are my jam! I'll get on a kayak or sailboat, hike a mountain, hop on a helicopter, get down in the mud or knee deep in the ocean to get those photos you will frame on your wall or show your grandkids one day. Have an idea? I can't wait to hear it!

We want to include our dog into the elopement ceremony and photos, is that okay?

Absolutely! Fur babies welcome!

WE KNOW WE WANT TO ELOPE, BUT WE AREN’T SURE WHERE. CAN YOU HELP US FIND A PLACE?

Absolutely! One of my favorite things to do is to help couples find their dream location for their special day. From Sooke to Port Hardy, I'll help you find that perfect spot for you to say, “I do,” with your soulmate. We’ll work together to turn your dream vision into a reality.

Do we need a wedding officiant for our elopement? If yes, can you recommend one?

It's up to you! You can choose to have a Commitment Ceremony which is a very real ceremony where you commit your lives to eachother by saying your vows and exchanging rings but is not legally binding. It can be performed by a friend or family member or just the two of you.
Or, you can arrange to have a wedding officiant join you to make it official. A list of officiants I have worked with in the past will be provided for you.

Will you help us find other local vendors to work with?

Yes! Sometimes it takes a talented team to fully bring your day to life. My vendor lists are pre-vetted to ensure you an LGBTQ+ positive and friendly space. From hair & make-up artists and florists to stationary experts and masters of the charcuterie board, we can create a beautiful day for you with every detail taken care of. Because the details matter!

We've never been to Vancouver Island before. Can you help us plan our stay beyond just the elopement?

Yes, I've got you covered! You'll receive a PDF copy of my Visitor's Guide to Vancouver Island with over 50 pages of information to help you plan your stay and extra time spent exploring the island together. Includes information on how to get here, regions to visit, places to stay, over 50 hikes categorized by region and type, 30 beaches covering both the east coast and the west coast, outdoor activities, tours and excursions and 4 handcrafted tried and true itineraries to suit different travel styles.

How long does it take to receive the photos after the elopement and how will those be delivered?

Firstly, I'll send you a handful of sneak peek shots a couple of days after your wedding. Less than 8 weeks later, you'll receive a link to your online gallery to relive your wedding day. Your gallery is slide-show ready and full of your downloadable image files.
